Armidale Montessori Preschool at the Autumn Festival Parade

We were delighted to take part in the Armidale Autumn Festival Parade, celebrating the beauty of Autumn in our local community — and what a fabulous turnout it was!

Families from Armidale Montessori Preschool proudly marched together in the parade, dressed in rich autumn colours of reds, yellows, oranges, greens and browns. This special opportunity allowed our community to be part of the parade itself, rather than watching from the sidelines, and it was wonderful to see so many children, parents and extended family members joining in the fun.

Parade participants carried handmade banners created by the children and educators, featuring meaningful words that reflect our Montessori values, including Inclusion, Education, Learning and Independence. The children also wore beautiful leaf outfits, crowns and bell bracelets, and carried helium balloons to share with the crowd — creating a vibrant and joyful display.

In the lead-up to the event, the Bambini room children and educators worked enthusiastically on preparations, painting leaves and banners together. In total, over 12 banners, 20 colourful leaf outfits and numerous leaf crowns were created, all proudly worn and carried by the children with the support of their families.

We were thrilled to have 21 families participate, with nearly 70 adults and children marching together on the day. The children looked absolutely adorable in their leaf outfits and crowns, and their excitement and pride were evident throughout the parade.

A heartfelt thank you to all the families who participated and helped make this event so memorable. Your involvement, enthusiasm and community spirit truly brought our Montessori values to life and made this Autumn Festival celebration one to remember 🍁As part of our annual Preschool curriculum, our Bambini room children will be participating in a minimum of 1 excursion per Term.
